Project Hyacinthesis Showcase
Hosted by Lanka Environment Fund & Good Life X
13–14 November 2026
I want to share with you something I’m working on at Lanka Environment Fund that I think you might be interested in.
📅 November 13 & 14
We’re hosting a showcase for Project Hyacinthesis, a project that works with women entrepreneurs to turn Japan jabara (water hyacinth) — an invasive aquatic plant — into useful products and materials. 🪷
The women have been developing everything from bags and slippers to coasters and homeware, and the showcase will be an open-house-style opportunity to meet them, see what they’ve been making, and explore how the material could potentially be used in fashion, design, hospitality and other industries. 👜🏨
We’d especially love to have designers, creatives, hotels, restaurants and other businesses who might be interested in developing products, collaborating with the entrepreneurs, or finding new uses for the material. 🤝✨
You can learn a little more about the project here: https://www.lankaenvironmentfund.org/media/harnessing-the-power-of-water-hyacinth-a-sri-lankan-story (opens in a new tab)
Please feel free to share this with anyone in your circles who might be interested! 💚 I’ll send the full details and invitation soon, but for now, save November 13 & 14. 📌
